Dr. Amish Shah is an Emergency Room physician and former State Representative with a track record of working across the aisle to get things done. As a legislator, he had more bipartisan bills put up to a vote and passed than the vast majority of members in the chamber.
But while Amish has dedicated his life to serving Arizona families and delivering results, his Republican opponent, GOP Rep. David Schweikert, has developed a reputation as one of the most corrupt, extreme, and partisan members of Congress. For years he has been assailed for misusing hundreds of thousands of dollars in funds to benefit himself and his close allies.
This is a critical House race for Democrats: Schweikert only won re-election by 0.8% of the vote in 2022 and polling confirms Amish is within the margin-of-error of replacing this Right-wing extremist.
