Garlin Gilchrist got his start in computer engineering and software development young. By the age of 16, he set up his own computer lab in a recreation center in Detroit using electronics he made himself in his spare time.
Garlin graduated with honors from the University of Michigan in 2005 with degrees in computer engineering and computer science before accepting a job as a software engineer with Microsoft.
Afterward, he spent years organizing in local communities and working in local government to modernize their digital infrastructure in order to bring Michigan’s government services fully into the 21st century.
Gretchen Whitmer selected Garlin as her running mate in her 2018 bid for Governor when the pair flipped blue a state Donald Trump won in 2016.
With your help, Gretchen and Garlin will win another term in this battleground state and continue to lead Michigan with policies backed by data and science.
