(Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) — 314 Action Fund, the nation’s only organization working to recruit, train, and elect doctors and scientists, today announced that STEM candidates in competitive races outraised their opponents.
In the 2026 cycle, 314 Action Fund is already working with 150+ STEM candidates running nationwide in competitive red to blue districts, gubernatorial races and key races flying under the radar. In Q4, all of these candidates outraised their opponents, demonstrating that voters trust Democratic doctors and scientists nationwide.
“As Trump and Republicans destroy health care, hike up insurance premiums, and bring back infectious diseases, it’s clear we need real leadership in office,” said Erik Polyak, 314 Action Executive Director. “Voters know there’s no one better prepared to meet this moment than doctors and scientists—and momentum is on our side going into the midterms.”
In one of the most competitive races in the country, 314-endorsed engineer Christina Bohannan edged out Representative Mariannete Miller-Meeks, raising over $1.1 million.
Bale Dalton—a Navy Captain and former NASA Chief running for Congress in Florida’s 7th Congressional District raised over $343,000 last quarter, significantly outraising Representative Cory Mills by over $282,000.
In North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District, one of 314 Action’s ‘Races Under the Radar,’ is heating up. Jamie Ager, a fifth-generation farmer and sustainable agriculture entrepreneur, beat out Representative Chuck Edwards last quarter, raising over $391,000.
Elaine Luria, former representative, engineer, and 314-endorsed candidate for Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District, outraised Representative Jen Kiggans by raising over $1 million since she launched.
Dr. Annie Andrews, a pediatrician and mom running for U.S. Senate in South Carolina, outraised 22-year incumbent U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham with over $1.4 million raised.
A 2026 Pew Research study confirms that scientific and medical professionals have some of the highest approval ratings and levels of trust among voters. On the issue of health care—this trend is even more apparent. Recent polling shows 314 Action Fund endorsed candidates in the lead, even from traditionally red states like Ohio to Iowa. 314 Action candidates are the most trusted, especially when it comes to health care, and already frontrunners in key races across the country.
