RFK Jr. Must Answer for Glyphosate Grift as Trump Admin Pushes for Immunity

In a new amicus brief filed to the Supreme Court, the Trump administration doubled down on its support for expanding the use of glyphosate, urging the court to provide immunity for German pesticide company Bayer.

This comes days after members of congress introduced the ‘No Immunity for Glyphosate Act,’ a bipartisan bill to stop the implementation of Trump’s executive order and ensure chemical manufacturers of glyphosate are not immune from civil liability. In response, 314 Action President Shaughnessy Naughton released the following statement:

“RFK Jr. has a pesticide problem—this issue is driving a wedge in the MAHA coalition. The Trump administration just handed corporate lobbyists a big win at the expense of MAHA moms and American cancer patients. If foreign companies like Bayer are granted immunity from prosecution, it could take away the constitutional rights of Americans to sue for damages caused by Roundup.

“Before taking office, RFK Jr. won a nearly $290 million settlement for his client, arguing that glyphosate caused his cancer. Over the past month, he’s twisted himself into a pretzel on this issue—first welcoming Trump’s executive order and then appearing on Joe Rogan later that week to walk back his suck-up statement that led to widespread backlash from MAHA supporters.

“314 Action welcomes the bipartisan bill introduced by members of congress and we encourage them to hold a hearing to investigate RFK Jr.’s changing position on the issue. RFK Jr. should answer as to why, after he has made millions suing Monsanto, he believes other Americans should neither be protected from the effects of glyphosate or be able to sue for damages.”
