Dr. Raul Ruiz grew up in the community of Coachella, California, where both of his parents were farmworkers. From a young age, he aspired to become a doctor, and worked to make his dream a reality.
Seeking to expand his impact on the community, Dr. Ruiz ran for Congress and defeated a seven term Republican incumbent. In Congress Dr. Ruiz uses his training and experience in science and as a physician to fight for our environment and expand the clean energy economy.
Dr. Ruiz graduated magna cum laude from UCLA with a B.S. in Physiological Sciences and earned his Medical Degree from Harvard. Dr. Ruiz returned home after completing his medical training to work in the Emergency Department at Eisenhower Medical Center.
