Elect Scientists

314 Action is the only organization dedicated to recruiting, training, and electing Democratic scientists to public office. With nationwide grassroots-driven support, we have helped elect scientists to the U.S. House of Representatives, U.S. Senate, and state and local offices across the country since our founding.

Research has shown that voters strongly prefer a candidate who is committed to making decisions based on facts and evidence over one who makes decisions based on personal convictions. In 2024, we helped elect 248 Democratic scientists into offices across the country, including seven new members of Congress, flipping 3 seats in the U.S House from red to blue, elect three incumbent U.S. Senators, 13 incumbent U.S. House members, and 225 candidates in down-ballot elections. 314 Action’s investments in municipal and state legislature races across the country have created a strong pipeline of new STEM leaders, distinguishing our work from other, similar organizations.

We’re in a better position than ever to lead the charge to retake the House, pick up U.S. Senate seats, win critical gubernatorial races, and continue to elect Democratic scientists to local offices across the country in 2025 and 2026.
