Dr. Webb Will Bring Health Policy Expertise and Commitment to Fellow Virginians to the U.S. House of Representatives

Philadelphia — Today, as the coronavirus pandemic highlights the need for science and fact-based leadership in government, 314 Action Fund announced its endorsement of Dr. Cameron Webb for Virginia’s fifth congressional district.

A practicing internal medicine physician, Dr. Webb continues to serve as a Hospitalist at UVA Health, where he has been directly involved in patient care amidst the COVID-19 response. Dr. Webb is also the Director of Health Policy and Equity at the University of Virginia’s School of Medicine, where he both teaches and leads health policy research. Dr. Webb previously served as a White House Fellow during the Obama administration, contributing to the work of the White House Healthcare Team and My Brother’s Keeper Initiative.

“I am grateful for the endorsement and support of 314 Action,” said Dr. Cameron Webb. “As a physician, I know firsthand that the actions—and inaction—of our elected officials have life-or-death consequences for people across Virginia. It’s absolutely critical that policy be guided by real evidence—by science and objective facts. After we flip this battleground seat in November, I plan to represent the residents of VA-05 with that as my priority.”

“Now more than ever, our country needs leaders who are committed to policy based on science and facts, and Dr. Cameron Webb has shown that he is ready to lead on this from day one,” said Shaughnessy Naughton, President of 314 Action Fund. “We are proud to support Dr. Cameron Webb’s campaign for Virginia’s fifth congressional district. As a health policy expert and practicing physician, Dr. Webb is uniquely positioned to support working families and help solve inequities in our health care system.”
