PHILADELPHIA — Today, 314 Action Fund announced its endorsement of US Senator Tammy Baldwin. The election in 2012 saw Baldwin become Wisconsin’s first woman senator and the country’s first openly LGBTQ+ senator. Last year, Baldwin gained national attention for helping spearhead a bill protecting the rights of same-sex marriage, which passed in November.
Tammy Baldwin won her 2012 race by nearly 6 percentage points and beat Republican State Sen. Leah Vukmir in 2018 by a decisive 11 percentage points, just two years after Donald Trump had won Wisconsin. Baldwin the support independent voters through her bipartisan legislative approach and her tireless advocacy for Wisconsinites.
