Dr. Jasmeet Bains is a family doctor who has dedicated her life to caring for working families, confronting health inequities. She became the Chief Medical Officer for the Central Valley on the California Medical Assistance Team and became Chair of the California Healthcare Workforce Policy Commission. “After 43 days, the Republican Health Care shutdown has finally come to an end—but the fight to restore health care is just beginning. As Republicans return from their eight-week taxpayer funded vacation, millions of Americans can’t pay for health insurance next year when premiums double or triple. With no scheduled date for the vote to extend ACA tax credits and House Republicans refusing to commit to a timeline, the fight over health care continues.
